New Children's Museum...

They just opened the new Children's Museum here, so while the kids were out early for CRTs we headed over to check it out.  It was really nice and tons better than the old one!

All the kids loved this pirate playhouse.

The water play area was another favorite.

They had a cool exhibit about George Washington.  Complete with a whole display just on his teeth!  Yes, it was Steve's favorite part.  ;-)

Photobombed by Brityn!  We loved the new museum and decided to get a family pass--we will be back often this year!

Happy Birthday Kendyl!!!

Happy 11th Birthday Kendyl!!  The week of her birthday was CRT testing so the kids had 1/2 days of school.  Great birthday present--not the testing, but having the afternoon off!  She opened a couple of presents in the morning before school.

A new sleeping bag to use on her Sea World field trip.

New shoes which she promptly put on and wore to school.  After school, Dad brought home Subway for lunch and then she got to open the rest of her presents.

Jewelry, clothes, tennis clothes, swimsuits for swim team, gift cards, cash, and games.

Brityn got her a Dream Lite and now all the kids are asking for one!

She picked Olive Garden for dinner and asked for brownies and ice cream for dessert.

Everyone getting a chance to blow out the candles.

Of course she had to try out her new sleeping bag.  :)  Happy Birthday to our fun, beautiful, helpful, responsible, caring, loving, terrific, awesome, wonderful, dependable, hardworking, fantastic, musical, talented, cute pre-teen!  We love you Kendyl!

Cornelius's come to visit!

We love our friends Bryant and Colleen!  Thanks for coming to visit us before you move--you guys are the best!!!

Went to see Terry Fator, funny and very talented and surprisingly not bad for a comedian on the strip.

Dinner at the buffet at The Mirage, so far, this has to be my favorite buffet, huge selection, food tasted fantastic without being bland or mass produced and best desserts.

Bryant and Steve

Colleen and Suzie

The kids had a fun time playing together.  Good luck on your move!  Can't wait to see what happens on your next adventure!

Ryder's first primary talk...

Ryder gave his first primary talk today.  He was nervous, but excited.  He did a great job!

"When Joseph Smith was a boy, he didn't know which church to join.  So he read the Bible and tried to figure out what he should do.  One day he read in the book of James, chapter 1, verse 5, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God; that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
After reading this scripture, Joseph decided to say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father which church he should go to.  He found a peaceful grove of trees and kneeled to pray.  While he was praying Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him.  They told him not to join any of the churches.
I think it is neat that Heavenly Father answered Joseph Smith's prayer.  If I saw Heavenly Father and Jesus, I would want to give them a hug.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

72 hour kits...

On General Conference weekend, I got to thinking about updating our 72 hour kits.  We had kits for Steve and I and the two oldest girls, but the younger three didn't even have kits.  It was pathetic--I think our kits are like 5 1/2 years old!  Food was past expiration dates and disgusting, clothes were 5 sizes too small for the girls.  So this major project took over the living room and dining room.

We threw out all the old and truly disgusting food.  We replaced all the food with new self-heating-ready-to-eat meals we got for Christmas.  Big improvement!

Made kits for the boys and Leightyn.

Had helpers washing new mess kits.

Seven packed 72 hour kits!  I hope we never have to use these, but at least for the next year everyone will have clothes that fit and food that is not past expiration!
