Swimming summer...

We are in the midst of swimming lessons and swim team and it is a daily activity. Most days we trek to the rec center twice a day and poor Sawyer gets the short end of the deal because he doesn't get to swim. Maybe next year. :)

This is Ryder's first year of solo swim lessons. He did great until they put the life jackets on and then he wasn't so happy. He does love to get in and get wet, blow bubbles, kick his feet and do head bobs, but his favorite thing is going down the slide!

Brityn is doing awesome and is swimming on her own. She needs to get the breathing part down and then she will be swimming like a fish!

This is Kendyl's second year of swim team and she continues to improve. She is definitely a better swimmer and is developing great technique. So while it is a time commitment, the kids are having fun and it is well worth it to know they are learning how to swim!

Father's Day...

The kids always love any time they get to spend with Dad. They loved singing to him and writing all kinds of notes and leaving treats for him where he would find them. Steve got to enjoy his Father's Day with cards and dinner. It was really yummy, but not really peaceful considering our house full of picky eaters! Kendyl didn't want to eat the ribs, Brityn didn't want to eat the potatoes, and Ryder wouldn't eat anything! Sorry Steve, hope you enjoyed your day anyway!!!

Fun in Primm...

Steve finally had a day off last Friday so we packed up the kids and headed out to Primm. The rides at Buffalo Bill's are free M-F for Nevada residents in June, and we're never ones to pass up a freebie! :)

We stopped at McDonald's for lunch before we rode the rides and did some shopping. Sawyer has become a little "dipper". He has discovered ketchup, ranch, syrup, and salsa. Everything tastes better dipped!

Ryder has turned into our "pickiest" eater. He refuses to eat hamburgers and will only eat chicken nuggets from Wendy's. So his lunch consisted of french fries and milk and a tantrum about eating a bite of hamburger or chicken nuggets! Aaaaahggghhh!!!!!

At least the girls were happy to eat their lunch! :) We went to the outlets and did some shopping, but the kids were so anxious to get to the rides, we didn't browse for long.

Our little "shorties" were only tall enough for 2 of the rides....the Frog Hopper and the Log Ride. So they rode them over and over.

Ryder had to work up his nerve to get on the Frog Hopper.

Sawyer was a really good sport and watched from the stroller.

Ryder FINALLY got on the Frog Hopper and cried the whole time. He only rode it once. :)

He did however, like the arcade where he could ride on motorcycles and turn steering wheels!

The log ride was fun too, but apparently there is a big waterfall that you go over and after the first time Ryder refused to go again. :)

So he spent the rest of the time watching.......safely away from all frog hoppers and waterfalls!

Awards and last day of school...

Kendyl had her awards ceremony the last week of school. Unfortunately they had a firedrill and were running more than 30 minutes behind, so we had to sit through the 2nd grade awards before they even got to the 3rd grade awards. Poor Ryder and Sawyer were sooooooo ready to leave by the end of it all!

Congratulations to Kendyl for getting straight A's and making the Principal's Honor Roll!!!!

Brityn also received her "official" certificate from Kindergarten. Great job!!!!

This is the last day of school. The girls took Great Harvest gift bags for their teacher's and one for the principal, Mrs. Popolo, since she is retiring this year. It has been another good year of school, with great teachers and friends, but I think we are all looking forward to some SUMMER FUN!!!!!

Kendyl gymnastics...

Kendyl did gymnastics during the school year and we finished up this month.

She enjoys it and I'm happy for her to stay active.

She was fearless and eager to do everything.

I'm also glad we have a rec center nearby where it doesn't cost an arm and a leg for the kids to try different sports.

Way to go Kendyl!

Drumroll please...

We went to the doctor's this week and had the ultrasound to see the baby. The kids were very excited and everyone had their guesses. Needless to say, the girls were very happy to be getting a baby sister! Ryder was not happy at all about the baby being a girl and kept saying, "I don't want it to be a girl. I don't want her to be in Mommy's tummy." I guess we'll be convincing him over the next several months that having a little sister is going to be AWESOME!

These were some cute pics of her hand and feet. We are grateful that she is healthy and everything looks good. We are all excited and I am ready to go shopping for anything PINK!

Kindergarten graduation...

Brityn had her Kindergarten graduation on Thursday. They had a cute little program and presentation with a party afterwards.

She was the first one in line and is peeking around the door. :)

They did a really cute phonics dance that all of the kids did a great job on!

She had a small part, "When I grow up I want to be a Painter."

And then she got her fancy certificate!

Brityn and her best friend Abi.

Brityn and Ms. Williams, the aide.

Brityn and her teacher Mr. Schrodi.

We had our own celebration dinner at Macayo's that night.

It is one of the few restaurants that the kids will all eat something!

Congratulations to Brityn for graduating from Kindergarten!!! Here comes 1st grade! We love you!!!!
