Miss Independent...

Gate the stairs!  Close the bathroom doors!  Put garbage cans up out of reach!  Put all tip-able kid chairs in the laundry room!  And clean up anything you do not want ripped up, chewed on, or destroyed!  We are on full baby-proof lockdown mode.

Little Miss Independent is on the move.  She cruises everywhere and stairs are no obstacle.  In fact, she laughs the whole time she's climbing them, like she knows she is getting away with it!

She has finally grown her 4 front teeth and is happily eating all kinds of real food.  She tolerates the baby food still, but don't even try to give her one she doesn't like because she will refuse to open up.

She pulls off her headbands too.

And she's become the world's worst diaper changer.  She will not lay still and distractions have to be major in order to keep her still long enough to get a clean diaper on her!

She pulls herself up on anything!  I don't think it will be long before this cutie is walking!

1st day of school...

Monday was the 1st day of school for Kendyl and Brityn.  They were both excited and were eager to see their friends.  They both have friends in their classes and their teachers seem really nice.

It's hard to believe that summer is over and the busy school schedule has begun!

Steve goes in to work late so he can go with us to do the 1st day of school drop-off.

Looking forward to a great school year!

Pictures at the beach...

Last day at the beach...

We spent our last day at the beach chasing waves, catching crabs, playing frisbee and enjoying the day.

Sawyer loved catching the crabs and moving them from bucket to bucket.  He was really fearless by the last day.

And while I wouldn't call vacationing with 5 kids exactly relaxing, because there are still kids to watch, feed, bath, and laundry to do, it was nice to be away from home, work, phone calls and other demands and just spend time together as a family.  A beautiful end to a lovely vacation.

Legoland, day 2...

We headed back to Legoland for a second day of riding rides and catching the shows we wanted to watch.  The kids picked their favorites and that's where we went.

Digging in the sand for dinosaur bones.

Ryder's favorite was definitely driving the cars.

And all the kids loved this airplane ride!

Especially Sawyer who could ride in the seat by himself!  They probably rode this ride 20 times!

Kendyl and Brityn wanted to ride the Technic rollercoaster.  It was Brityn's favorite, not Kendyl's.  :)

Kendyl had to have a picture with Harry Potter and Hagrid.

This was a cool music park where you could stand on a circle and the instrument in front of you would play.  The kids spent quite a while jumping on all of the circles getting the music to play.

Fun times at Legoland!
