Mini-yoga...

Brityn was very excited when she learned that the 1st and 2nd graders could do a mini-yoga class after school.  She signed up and couldn't wait!

Here she is doing "Flamingo".

"Viking"

"Pigeon"

"Swan"

"Mountain"

"Tree"

"Lotus"

She thoroughly enjoyed mini-yoga and the stretches.  She even taught us all some poses for FHE one night!  The teachers were fabulous and even had cute, healthy snacks for the kids each week.  We hope they do it again next year!

Memorial Day...

For Memorial Day this year, we had a ward pancake breakfast at the park.  It was the perfect weather and the kids enjoyed playing with friends.  Afterwards, we headed to the cemetary to put flowers on Grandma and Grandpa Hardy's graves.

The kids have fun and it's a nice tradition.  :)

We always seem to have a sleeper.  :)  We stopped for lunch in Mesquite before heading back to Bunkerville where we put flowers on more graves.

Happy Memorial Day!

"Z" is for Zookeeper...

We had the letter Z for preschool this week and instead of going to the zoo, we had Roos N More bring the animals to us!  I was really glad that all the kids seemed happy to touch and pet the animals and the only ones that were really afraid were my own kids!

Zookeeper Valerie brought out Nagini, an albino gopher snake first.  Personally, I don't care for snakes, but I was impressed with all the kids and moms who held the snake draped over them!

This coatamundi was quite friendly.

But of course, none of my children wanted anything to do with him!

Ryder finally warmed up when she brought out the baby kangaroo!

Oh, she was so cute!

I got to hold this beautiful toucan on my arm.

He was a clever bird and could catch the ball in his beak!

The baby leemur was another cute playful guy.

He would climb and jump and sit on the kids head or shoulders.

And last of all was Remington, the 2-month-old baby capuchin monkey.  He was adorable hugging his stuffed animal while the kids held him.  :)  I was so happy with the whole experience.  Zookeeper Valerie talked about each of the animals and made sure everyone got a chance to hold the animals and take pictures.  And even this non-animal-loving mom had a great time with these cute, small, friendly animal friends!  I'd definitely do it again and that's saying a lot!

Eclipse...

On Sunday, Steve did some research on pinhole cameras and had all the kids making one with a shoe box.  I am impressed that it worked and it was simple enough for the kids to do!

We also discovered that you could use binoculars and get a bigger picture that was easier to see.

The kids were all very intrigued by the whole event and watched for quite a while.  Sawyer played more than watched, but he did pretty good for a 2-year-old attention span.

This was as close as it got from our house.  It sure was cool though!

Visitors!

We love when Uncle Kenny and Auntie RaNae come to visit!  The boys glued themselves to Uncle Kenny's side, lap and hands and never left him alone the entire weekend.  Sawyer was calling him Papa Kenny.  :)  Ryder had a hard time remembering RaNae's name, but by Sunday, thankfully he had stopped pointing and calling RaNae "her".

We spent the weekend going out to eat, shopping and catching up.  We took them to the Springs Preserve (gotta get our use out of the year pass we bought) and went through the Nevada State Museum.  It was small, but neat.

They had this huge mammoth skeleton and some smaller "dino" skeletons so Ryder was in heaven.

Believe it or not, this is a tooth.

We played tennis, cleaned the office, went to a stake barbeque and stayed up late visiting.  Hope we didn't wear you out!  Thanks for coming to visit--we love you!!!
