Summer camp x2...

The boys did a second week of summer camp with Miss Heather.  This week's theme was on different books or authors.  They had a ton of fun!

The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Suess.

The spider web was a craft they finished for Eric Carle the day before.

Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! by Mo Willems.  Don't know if you can read Sawyer's paper, but it says don't let the pigeon drive the monster truck!  lol

Pete the Cat by James Dean

Swimming lessons x3...

Since the boys were doing another week of camp with Miss Heather, we couldn't schedule swim lessons with Miss Janette.  But, Miss Janette's daughter, Jordynn, teaches private swimming lessons so I signed up all three little kids for lessons in the afternoon.

Ryder and Sawyer did great!

Leightyn's first swimming lessson!  She didn't miss the Hardy tradition of crying through her first summer of swim lessons either!!  :(

We practiced a lot of good manners, trying new things, and being a good sport.  We practiced humming in the bathtub, scooping our arms, and kicking our legs.  And then I resorted to bribing with M&Ms if she didn't cry through the lesson.  ;-)

Totally fine and happy before and after her lesson!

Sawyer did awesome!

And they loved playing on the step while the others had their lesson.

Happy swimmers!

Father's Day...

Steve celebrated by not having extra meetings on Sunday!  And the kids made him cards and enjoyed spending the afternoon with him.  :)

The kids in junior primary made these cute ties and hung them on the Bishop's door.  The little kids were excited to point out which tie was theirs.  :)  Thanks for being a great Dad Steve!  You're the best and we love you!!!

More swim lessons...

Sawyer made lots of progress this summer with Miss Janette.  She taught the kids to hum in the water and it really helped Sawyer build up his confidence about putting his face in the water without getting water up his nose.

He would NOT do this before.  He would cry and/or refuse.  It was AMAZING to see him this comfortable in the water!

For this lesson, Miss Janette had Ryder's class bring long sleeves and long pants and then taught them how to take them off in the water and make them into flotation devices.

And while it was hard to do, the kids were so excited to see their own clothes fill up with air like balloons.

Great lesson!  And a great introduction to what they will learn in scouting!

Sawyer at gymnastics...

Sawyer got the gymnastics bug and took classes all summer.  He loved tumbling and swinging even though sometimes he was nervous to try new things.

Good times at gymnastics!
