Memorial Day...

We had a very full and busy weekend and seemed to be running to different events each day. The kids thoroughly enjoyed playing with cousins at Aunt Margaret's and a big thank you to Uncle Dono for pitching the ball to Ryder all evening and for a yummy dinner! We all loved it!

On Monday we took a breather and headed out to a couple of cemetaries to put flowers on the graves. Steve has family from this area so we headed over to Woodlawn Cemetary to put flowers on Grandma and Grandpa Hardy's graves.

Sawyer fell asleep before we even made it to the cemetary. :)

Brityn with some flowers.

We then headed to Bunkerville where they have a lovely little cemetary full of Hardy relatives.

The kids loved looking at the headstones searching for Hardy's.

Ryder started doing some funny poses...I have no idea what it means!?!

Reading and talking about ancestors and where we come from.

All the kids loved the pinwheels we found in the cemetary.

Afterwards we headed to Mesquite for some lunch and the kids watched movies all the way home. We hope our kids felt a sense of appreciation for all of their ancestors and the lives they led, be it in service to our country or as a pioneer. Happy Memorial Day!

Pigeons...

We discovered a couple of pigeons that decided to build a nest on the roof above our front door. Not so pleasant to find their "droppings" and not anxious to have an entire flock nesting on our house, we decided they needed to be removed. Our neighbor offered to use them as target practice...

But when Steve got up on the ladder to investigate he found this...

Brityn's idea was to move the nest so they wouldn't be on the roof anymore.

Our slightly inhumane neighbor offered Plan B. However, not knowing how long these eggs had been incubating, we had no takers for breakfast. In the end, the eggs were disposed of unharmed and we haven't seen the pigeons since.

A quick visit...

We were excited to see Uncle Kenny and Auntie RaNae for a night. They stopped on their way to California with Uncle Roger, Aunt Joanne, Steve, Amy and Katy. It was fun to catch up and visit and of course, the kids loved having company. I think Uncle Roger turned out to be Ryder's favorite visitor...he can't stop talking about playing basketball and how Uncle Roger got the ball and smashed the cockroach! Thanks for coming to visit! It's always great to see you!

Lemonade stand...

A couple of weekends ago, our neighborhood had a community yard sale. The kids thought it would be a great idea to set up a lemonade stand.

Ryder was the best at waving at the passing cars and yelling, "HI!"

Quite a few people stopped by for the few hours they sat outside. Their favorite customers were the garbage man and the FedEx guy.

Steve had the best idea to give the lemonade for free and have a jar for tips. They made just about $20 and had tons of fun doing it!

Mother's Day...

Yes, well, this is the only decent picture I got on Mother's Day. Not a single one of me with ALL of the kids. BUT, it was a lovely day with homemade cards and gifts, Steve got me flowers and made dinner, and the kids LOVED doing a tea party for lunch. I think it will be an annual event. I am grateful to be a Mom. I love my children and the love I get from them. And if you haven't heard yet, we are adding another little Hardy in November. We're all excited! :)
