Birthday party fun...

Brityn had some friends over on Saturday for her birthday party.

We rented a Tinkerbell jumphouse with a slide attached. It showed up at 7:30am on Saturday morning and the kids were so excited they were jumping and sliding in their pajamas!

Even Ryder was not about to be left out of the fun! He was climbing and crawling inside and up the ladder to go down the slide.

I made Kendyl take him down the slide with her, but after a while he was going down all by himself!

This slide was steep and fast, but tons of fun!

Even Steve had to try it out. :)

Brityn had a big grin on her face jumping and sliding with her friends.

The kids had a blast and played and jumped and slid--repeated about a hundred times!

Here's the fancy Tinkerbell cake...she loved it and wanted to eat the pieces that had her name on it.

Singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles.

Opening presents.

Thanks to all her friends who came and played. It was tons of fun!

After presents we played Tinkerbell bingo and all the kids got goodie bags. Everyone was happy! :)

Once all the friends were gone we hooked up the water hose to the slide and put our swimsuits on.

The kids loved cooling off and sliding down the "waterslide".

Ryder was even going down the slippery wet slide all by himself and loving it!

The kids played until they came and picked up the jumphouse at 6:00pm, then we all ate dinner, took a bath and dropped into bed. It was a great day and worth every penny. ;-)

Citizen of the Month...

Kendyl came home excited last week when she found out that she was the first Citizen of the Month for her class this year.

Here she is getting her certificate from the principal and vice principal.

She loves school and we are so proud of her for being a good student and a great all-around girl! CONGRATULATIONS KENDYL! We love you!!!

Brityn's birthday...

Brityn had a very fun birthday and started out early by opening her presents!

She had a Tinkerbell birthday this year and got lots of fun toys.

Kendyl gave her some pet shop toys which she loves to play almost everyday.

She also got some princess polly pockets which are another favorite.

Birthday dollars came in the mail from Tutu and Grandma--thank you--she loved getting the cards and gifts in the mail!

Ryder got her this barbie on the bicycle, and now it is HIS favorite toy to play with!

After opening presents, she headed off to preschool where she took Krispy Kreme donuts, gogurts and orange juice for her birthday treat. For lunch she wanted to go to Wendy's and then she had a doctor's appointment for her 4-year-old checkup and her last series of shots before kindergarten. She was a trooper and did great--only a few tears! She picked Applebee's for dinner and then we came home for chocolate cupcakes with candles.

Blowing out all four candles!

Hope you had a great 4th birthday Brityn! We love you!!!

Brityn is 4...

Our little girl is now four! She has been a fun addition to our family with lots of hugs, smiles and laughter. She is an early riser and is almost always the first one up. She loves to go to preschool and comes home excited about all the new things she has learned. She idolizes her big sister, Kendyl, and frequently wants the same hairdo or to match clothes with her. She likes to play pet shop and polly pockets with Kendyl and Ryder likes to play with anything she is playing with. She is an avid fan of "Wipeout" especially 'big balls' and the 'sucker punch'. She likes to read books and make up her own jokes. She is generally shy around others, but once she warms up to you, she is quite the conversationalist. She has a big heart and is frequently saying "I love you" and smothering Ryder with love until he has had enough and pushes her away. She always wants a buddy to go upstairs with her. When she goes to bed, she likes to cuddle and tell us her favorite thing about the day. She has loved going to big primary and being a sunbeam this year. We are so proud of all the new things you've done this past year and how much you've grown! We love you Brityn! Happy Birthday!!!

It's a boy...

We are having another little boy! I think we are all excited that this little guy is on his way. The girls just love getting a chance to see baby brother and figuring out what body part is on the screen.

Here he is with his perfect little profile, so cute!

I have to admit that this is our second ultrasound. We had one last month right before we left on vacation, literally, we left the ultrasound appointment and hit the road. I packed the cd in the diaper bag and we did get it out to look at the pictures that night once we got to Utah. When we returned home I went to look in the diaper bag for the cd and could not find it. We searched all of our luggage as we unpacked and called Grandpa to ask him to search his house, but to no avail, no one found the cd. So we prayed for help to find the cd and I figured maybe it just got scooped up with other papers and we would discover it sooner or later. One month later and there is still no sign of it.

During the first ultrasound the tech seemed concerned with the baby's kidneys and wanted us to do a follow-up ultrasound in one month to check them again. So we went today for our second ultrasound, this time everything looks perfect and the kidneys are just fine! We are so thankful that everything appears normal and that he is healthy. So maybe Heavenly Father answered our prayers by having us come back for a second ultrasound because He knew we would lose that first disc!

No doubts that he's a boy! He was moving around a lot during the ultrasound, touching his toes and his arms...it looked like he was saying hi to us!

First day of preschool...

Today was Brityn's first day of preschool this year. She has been very excited all week, especially since she had her orientation last Wednesday. We packed her backpack and got her show and tell all ready yesterday. This morning she and Kendyl were up really early. Kendyl was even excited for her to start school this morning and made her a sign that said, "Hurray for the first day of preschool!"

We walked Kendyl to school and then headed for Mrs. Aubrey's house and were the first ones to get there. We took a few pictures and then she gave me a hug and went right in.

When I picked her up she said, "I had the best time ever!" She showed me her treats for being good and told me all about her day. She was very proud of her scissor skills and told me that we only use scissors on paper and when we need a haircut! I quickly reminded her that we NEVER cut our hair or anybody else's hair with scissors, only mommies and daddies can give haircuts!

And while the two big sisters were at school this morning, Ryder and I spent some one on one time together playing puzzles and toys and cuddling on the couch while we watched Diego.

I think he liked all the attention, but I think I wore him out, because he fell asleep in the car after we picked Brityn up from preschool! :)
