Preschool Easter Party...

We met at the park for Sawyer's preschool easter party.  The weather has been beautiful this past week and the kids loved playing at the park.

They played a ring toss game trying to get the rings on the bunny ears.  Taylor was a good sport and wore the ears on her head.

And for snacks they got bunny shaped sandwiches, watermelon, carrots and ranch, and cupcakes with a peep on top.  So cute!

For crafts we made bunny ears and bunny whiskers and a nose on a stick.

We had lots of cute little bunnies!

Then we had a fun easter egg hunt.

It took Leightyn a few minutes to figure out what she was supposed to do, but once she figured it out, she was hunting those eggs!

Sawyer went straight for all the orange eggs he could find.

And Kellie bought these cute little bunnies that move around and make noise for each of the kids.

Literacy Night...

We went to Literacy Night at the kids' school on Tuesday.  They had different activities to do around the school.  At the end of the night they had a book raffle and Sawyer's ticket was one of the first ones they called.

And then the rest of the kids anxiously waited to hear if their ticket numbers would get called.

Ryder got the next book and was super excited!

And then Brityn got a book and last of all Leightyn got one.  We never win free stuff and we kept telling the kids that their odds for getting picked were very small.  Who knew we would walk away with 4 books!  Yay for reading!

Field trip to the Children's Museum...

On Tuesday, we went with our morning preschool to the Children's Museum.  We love playing and exploring here.

Field trip to San Diego Zoo...

Kendyl went on the 6th grade field trip to the San Diego Zoo.  They left at 4am and got home at 1am, so it was a very long day, but she had a great time.

V is for volcano...

 I got to teach Sawyer's preschool class about the letter V this month.  We learned about vegetables, violins and volcanoes.  Of course we had to experience the "erupting" volcano.  Here is our first try...

The kit I bought let you make an ice volcano from a mold.  It was cool to see the "lava" through the ice, but the ice cracked and everything just leaked out the bottom.

Yea, not so exciting....

 We added a few more soap bubbles and got a little more of an eruption.  The kids loved it, although some were scared it would explode everywhere.  :)

I was worried that V would be a hard letter to teach about, but it was actually really interesting.  Science experiments are fun!
